MARJ RASH

Marj is an Intermediate Junior I Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor. Having studied yoga for over 35 years, Marj was introduced to Iyengar yoga in 1996. She began teaching in 1998.

Her warm and sunny teaching style is particularly in-tune with recovering and special needs students. She continues to study with several senior Iyengar teachers including Laurie Blakeney, George Purvis and Manouso Manos, and has studied many times with the Iyengar family in Pune, India. She attended the 2001, 2004 and 2007 Iyengar Yoga conventions.

Marj was the Membership Chair, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor of the Iyengar Yoga Association of the South Central United States (IYASCUS) from 2002 to 2009.

Restorative Yoga once or twice a week will balance your active practice. The sequences listed below have been designed to affect a certain part of the body. Any sequence will give a feeling of relaxation and calmness.

January 30 Relief from Low Back and Sacrum Pain
February 6 Pain in the Neck and Shoulders: not just for those with neck injuries, but also those that hold stress in the shoulders.
February 13 Stress Relief: the class will assist in letting go of deep tension created by stress.
February 20 Low Back Pain Relief: this class is for sacrum and lumbar discomfort.
February 27 Pranayama: rhythmic deep breathing

February 3 Relief for Physical Fatigue
February 10 Warm Hands and Feet: this sequence is designed to increase circulation to battle cold hands and feet.
February 17 Increase Abdominal Softness: release the tension and grip in the lower torso. Beneficial for those with digestion troubles, fertility problems or menstrual difficulties.
February 24 Insomnia Relief: learn to get a good night's sleep. Many supported inversions.

This class is for those with little or no yoga experience. We sill start with the very beginning asanas taught in a clear fashion. There will be one instructor and one assistant instructor for the group of 10 students. Those students with health issues, e.g. bad knees, back pain, etc. will receive personalized instruction. Yoga is for all.
